Trad Anglia Music Archive is a living archive of traditional music in East Anglia. It is a growing collection of recordings submitted by people living in the counties of Cambridge, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk, encompassing many different strands of traditional music – from sea shanties and unaccompanied singing to jigs, reels, hornpipes and everything in between.
It is a non profit online resource for reference and listening pleasure, as well as a survey of the types of traditional music and songs being played and sung in East Anglia right now.
Trad Anglia Music Archive is looking for submissions. If you live in East Anglia and sing or play traditional music, we would love to hear from you. We are open to all sorts of submissions, it doesn’t matter if it is a hiss laden recording made on your phone or a tape recording made on the table at a noisy pub session. We are happy to digitise music from physical media such as CD, tape or minidisc, and also take the audio from a youtube video you may have uploaded.
All levels and abilities are welcome, as long as you are based in East Anglia and play traditional music or sing traditional songs you are strongly encouraged to submit something. Multiple submissions are also welcome.
If you would like to submit some music to the archive, simply fill out our submission form HERE.
Trad Anglia Music Archive is a project established with The East Anglian Traditional Music Trust.
